Save Money this Summer with the New
‘Fun For Free in Colchester' Guide

LOCAL people and visitors looking to find great things to do this Summer will welcome the return of the ‘Fun For Free in Colchester' guide which contains hundreds of things to do and places to visit which are all free.

Based on the highly successful campaign launched in 2008, this year's guide is bigger and better than ever!  The new 24 page guide contains details of 80 free events and 26 free attractions.  5000 copies have been printed and the guide is available free from the VisitColchester Information Centre.

Council car parks have also joined in the campaign by offering special low daytime rates (between 10am & 3pm) of just 40p an hour at some town centre car parks.

There are also over £120 worth of money-off vouchers in the guide to support Colchester's great range of ‘paid for' attractions and events and it is hoped that people will also visit these with some of the money they have saved by taking part in the free activities.

Commenting on the 2010 campaign, the Council's Portfolio Holder for Business and Tourism, Councillor Nick Barlow, said:  "This timely campaign will help people negotiate their way through these difficult financial times and discover the wide range of attractions and events which are taking place in and around Colchester over the coming months while at the same time supporting local leisure businesses.  This campaign is about getting people out and about and enjoying life locally more."
